Learn more about Apogee Sacramento.

Each day at Apogee Sacramento is thoughtfully designed to foster belonging and connection, develop character and confidence, and ignite a lifelong love for learning. Here’s what a typical day in our studios looks like:

Parents park and walk their students into the studio, checking them in, and for the younger ones helping them get settled for the day. This intentional transition sets a welcoming and joyful tone, allowing families to connect with each other before the day begins.
We gather as a community to greet and bless one another, practice our scripture verse and history song of the week, and review our studio code. We integrate socratic discussions that help students develop critical thinking, thoughtful communication as they practice articulating their ideas, and respectful listening as they consider others’ perspectives. We end with some high-impact movement to stimulate our brains for focused work. This time is centered around connection, builds a sense of belonging, and energizes students for the day ahead.
Students engage in hands-on learning using Montessori materials, Saxon Math, math games, movement, and songs to build number sense and problem-solving skills. They work independently or in pairs, with guides leading small-group lessons to support mastery. Students advance at their own pace, earning badges as they demonstrate understanding, and can access online learning resources to reinforce concepts. With math scheduled simultaneously across studios, learners can work at the level that best fits their growth.

Fresh air, movement, and play are essential parts of our day. Students enjoy free play outside, fueling their bodies with nutritious snacks, soaking up sunshine, and recharging for the next block of learning.
Students develop strong reading, writing, and spelling skills through a mix of hands-on Montessori activities, phonics-based instruction, copywork, and creative expression. By mastering foundational phonograms and structured writing techniques, students build confidence in both decoding and composition. Engaging with diverse fiction and nonfiction texts, they strengthen literacy while making meaningful connections across subjects, preparing them to communicate with clarity and purpose.
Lunch is a time for connection, nourishment, and play. Students enjoy their nutritious, home-brought meals outside whenever possible, followed by time to run, laugh, and soak up the beauty of God’s creation and their community.

Students experience the importance of movement and how it strengthens both their bodies and minds. Beyond traditional PE, we incorporate breathwork, mobility, and functional fitness inspired by Physiology First. By integrating discussions on healthy nutrition and making movement fun, we empower students to build strength, resilience, and lifelong wellness habits—helping them move with confidence and energy in all areas of life.
After lunch, we ease back into the studio with a calming read-aloud, sparking imagination and strengthening listening skills. Once a week, Show & Tell gives students the opportunity to share something meaningful, practice public speaking, and connect with their peers—building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of community.
In the afternoons, students dive into social studies, science, and collaborative projects that bring learning to life. By applying academic concepts to real-world contexts, they deepen their understanding while developing teamwork, leadership, creativity, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, small-group setting.

Students learn responsibility and stewardship by taking on daily studio maintenance tasks. From vacuuming and wiping down surfaces to caring for plants and sharpening pencils, every child takes ownership by playing a role in keeping our space clean and beautiful.
The day ends with a time of reflection and connection. Learners celebrate accomplishments, share exciting news, acknowledge acts of kindness and positive character they witnessed in one another, and take ownership by offering apologies when needed. Tribe Time strengthens our community and sends learners home on a positive note.
Parents arrive to pick up their children, who are ready to share their day’s adventures and accomplishments.
